The S&OP Institute and USC-Marshall’s Center for Global Supply Chain Management join together to S&OPprovide The Certified Sales and Operations Planning (CS&OP) Certification Review Workshop. This is a one-day workshop available for professionals and business leaders who wish to solidify and reinforce their skill sets with a unique certification focused on the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) strategic planning process. 

S&OP is highly cross-functional and multi-level. Therefore, attendance is encouraged for people at the managerial, directorial, and executive levels in Sales/Marketing, Operations/Supply Chain, and Finance, and any employee responsible for managing or directing the activities of Sales & Operations Planning.

S&OP Certification validates your expertise in a set of decision-making processes to balance demand and supply, to integrate financial planning, operational planning, and to link high-level strategic plans with day-to-day operations. 

Topics Covered

Sample topics covered in the study course and each workshop include:

  • Basics of Sales & Operations Planning – Display of information, Monthly S&OP meeting, Benefits, etc.
  • S&OP Implementation – S&OP software, Change management, Implementation methodology, etc.
  • Beyond the Basics – Global S&OP, S&OP and Risk Management, Lean & S&OP, etc

This certification review course will take you through the ABC’s of the S&OP process and guide you with tips on taking and passing the optional S&OP Certification exam offered by the S&OP Institute. 

Please note:  The workshop does not include Certification Exam. The Certification Exam will require a separate registration and additional payment of $495.00

The S&OP Certification Exam is a web-based, at home test that can be taken when the attendee is ready. The exam is 120 questions that must be completed in 2 1/2 hours at a 70% accuracy level.   

After passing the exam, the CS&OP designation means the successful exam taker has substantial knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning and its components and enhancements, such as:

  • Demand Planning
  • Supply Planning
  • Decision-Making Processes
  • Global S&OP
  • S&OP in heavily matrixed organizations
  • Sales and Operations Planning implementation

Joyce Lewis is President of APICS Los Angeles Chapter and Vice President of Business Development for the Sales & Operations Planning Institute. She privately consults with various Fortune 50-250 corporations in all aspects of Supply Chain Management and Operations Management, specifically in the areas of ERP system implementations, business process improvements, sales & operations planning, and all demand/supply-related activities.  She has more than 25 years of experience in various aspects of the high technology industry, and more than 15 years of experience in the art and science of education.

Joyce is designated as a Master Instructor participating in APICS’s Instructor Development Program. She has led multiple Sales & Operations Planning implementations and teaches CS&OP courses on a worldwide basis.
